The Nets avoided their fourth straight loss by winning a close and tight game against the Pistons.

The previous three games had been a rough stretch for the Nets and they just barely escaped the Pistons by winning 120-119 in OT on Wednesday night. The close victory snapped a three-game losing streak and improved them to 3-5 on the season, all thanks to Spencer Dinwiddie and his heroics.

Entering the 4th quarter, the Nets trailed by 83-77; but outscored the Pistons by 33-27 to close out the last quarter. They were down by 110-107 with 22 seconds left, when Dinwiddie hit a 3-pointer to even the score at 110-110; forcing the game into overtime. They trailed again 119-117 with 7.1 seconds to go in OT, but Dinwiddie stepped in again with another 3-pointer and pulled his team out of the game with a victory.

Dinwiddie finished the game with a season-high 25 points, 17 of which came in the 4th quarter and in OT. He was 8 for 15 in field goal, and 5 for 9 in 3-pointers. Joe Harris added with 23 points and 5 rebounds, while Caris LeVert scored 19 points, with 6 assists and 6 rebounds.

It was a rough night for the Pistons, who dropped their third straight game and fell to 4-3; after starting the season at 4-0. Blake Griffin, Andre Drummond, and Reggie Jackson combined for a total of 70 points; while the bench scored a combined total of 43 points. Drummond also finished the game with an outstanding 23 rebounds.

Next up, the Nets will host the Houston Rockets at the Barclays Center on Friday.
